BannerSwap ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that lets you swap images on any webpage. Your privacy matters — this policy explains what data the Extension handles and how.

Data We Collect

None. BannerSwap does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. There is no analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind.

Data Stored Locally

The Extension uses chrome.storage.local and sessionStorage to save small pieces of state on your device only:

• Active state — whether the extension toggle is on or off.
• Trial timer — cumulative seconds the extension has been active, used to enforce the free trial limit.
• Panel position — where you last dragged the floating panel, so it stays in place during your session.

This data never leaves your browser. It is not shared with any third party.

Images & Screenshots

When you swap an image, the replacement file is read from your device and applied locally in the browser tab. When you capture a screenshot, it is downloaded directly to your device. No images are uploaded or sent anywhere.

Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab / tabs — to interact with the current page and detect tab switches.
• scripting — to inject the floating panel and image-swap logic into web pages.
• storage — to persist the active state and trial timer locally.
• host_permissions (all URLs) — to work on any website you visit. No data from these sites is collected or transmitted.

Third-Party Services

BannerSwap does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or external APIs in its current version.
